Sone of you might remember this post from last summer.
This summer our ward planed the same event again, and I promised the kids that we would go if there wasen't a storm.
Aaron had to work, so Kimber & David came to pick us up, and it was pretty coudy, but no other signs that we shouldn't swim, so we headed to the school where the party was.
When we got out of the car in the parkinglot we noticed that it was windy, but still no thunder or lightning, or rain, so we hurried to the water.
We had so much fun! Kyle went down the big slide again, and both kids had a blast in the kiddie pool! Oh yeah, and Kyle's little girlfriend Jasmine from his Primary class was there, and they had lots of fun playing together! :)
After only a few minutes the lightning started so we gathered up the kids, and got out of the pool. Most people were still swimming, but we just weren't comfprtable with having the kids in the water with lightning so close. So we headed over, and ate homemade ice cream.
The life guards then got everyone out of the pool, and said that they were going to wait fifteen minutes, and if the storm blew over we could get back in the pool, and if not then the pool would be closed.
After ice cream, we headed back to the lounge chair where we had set all of our stuff. Kimber ande I used Slade's wipes to clean sticky little fingers and faces, and then we decieded that the storm would probably stay, so we headed home.
The kids were a little disapointed, but thankfully they understood why they couldn't get back in the water. I think it helped a little when Kimber promised them that we would go swimming at her house sometime soon!
Hopefully the next time we go swimming we will have better luck with the weather!
