THIS IS A LITTLE DISCOURAGING

Aaron went to the Endocrinologist today.

We were expecting to find out if he was going to have another test done where they would take a sample of fluid from each of his adrenal glands. This test would tell them if it is the gland with the tumor, or both glands together causing the problems. This would have told them if surgery would help, or if he needs to be put on a hormone blocker.

However, Aaron's latest test results show a different result than before. They did some tests for different things that are produced by the adrenal glands, and a new one came back too high while the other one stayed too high as well. The doctor said that this is physically imposable for both of them to be too high at the same time. It indicates that the fluids may have been mismeasured, or that one of his medications is causing the misreading.

So now he has to do the SAME EXACT TESTS all over again in about 3 weeks. This time while he is doing the test, he will not take the medication that might be causing the problem.

The doctor now hopes to send Aaron to the Mayo Clinic where a team of doctors who all specialize and work together can ALL test him, and then get together and figure out what is going on, there for find a way to fix him. The only problem there is, we don't know if our insurance will cover the Mayo Clinic. If they don't, then we might have to go to University Hospital in Tuscon where Aaron would be seen over a period of days there. The only problem that poses is HOW THE HECK CAN I FEED HIM RIGHT IF THE ONLY THING AVAILABLE IS FAST FOOD?!!!

However, if it does prove to just be his meds affecting the levels, then they will go ahead and schedule the appointment to do the test on the adrenal glands.

He will see this doctor again in 2 months. On the way home I told Aaron he needs to have a sign stamped on his forehead reading

So for now I still have to be bossy about Aaron's diet, which I hate having to do, but we have seen some benefit's from it! His blood pressure is back down to 140 over 90 which for him is PERFECT! AND HE HAS LOST 10 POUNDS!!! This made him VERY HAPPY!!!

I am happy to know though that the doctor is NOT happy about having to leave Aaron on so many meds for a long period of time, and he says that he WILL find a way to take care of the problem.

So for now, we are kind of back to square one, which is a little discouraging, but we will deal with it! Hopefully we will have some more encouraging news next time!
